Nagoya City Science Museum
The Nagoya City Science Museum (名古屋市科学館, Nagoya-shi Kagakukan) stands out with its iconic giant silver globe, home to one of the world’s largest planetariums. Every month, visitors can enjoy new astronomy programs, immersing themselves in breathtaking projections of stars and celestial phenomena. While the shows are in Japanese, the visuals alone make for an unforgettable experience. Spanning seven floors, the museum offers hands-on exhibits that spark curiosity in both children and adults, making science exciting and accessible.
Five of the museum’s floors are dedicated to interactive displays, allowing visitors to engage in experiments and demonstrations. Highlights include the Tornado Lab, where you can witness a towering vortex, and the Electric Discharge Lab, showcasing dramatic lightning simulations. The Deep Freezing Lab replicates extreme polar conditions, providing a thrilling glimpse into Earth’s coldest environments. Seasonal exhibitions in the basement add fresh experiences, making each visit unique.
