You can reach the castle in 15-20 minutes by walking from either Inuyama Station or Inuyama-Yuen Station, with Inuyama-Yuen being a bit closer. Both stations are on the Meitetsu Railway.

Inuyama Castle
Inuyama Castle (犬山城, Inuyamajō), built in 1537, is one of Japan’s oldest castles and one of only twelve "original castles" remaining. Its main keep is a national treasure, offering an authentic look into Japan's feudal past. The castle stands atop a small hill next to the Kiso River, providing stunning views of the surrounding area. Visitors can explore the steep stairs, which lead to the top level, and view chambers like the lookout used to spot approaching enemies.
The castle’s wooden and stone construction remains well-preserved, offering a glimpse of its historical significance. Unlike reconstructed castles, Inuyama Castle has retained much of its original charm, including unique features like stone-throwing holes and enemy surveillance rooms. The climb rewards visitors with panoramic views of the castle grounds and the scenic Kiso River.
