The nearest stop for the Aizu Loop Bus is "Tsurugajo Kitaguchi," a 20-minute ride from Aizu-Wakamatsu Station. From there, it's a 5-minute walk to the castle keep.

Tsuruga Castle
Tsuruga Castle (鶴ヶ城, Tsurugajō), built in 1384, was once a stronghold for samurai in the Aizu region. Destroyed in the Boshin War of 1868, it was later rebuilt in the 1960s using concrete, with roof tiles restored to their original red color in 2011. The castle's museum offers insights into samurai history, and visitors can enjoy panoramic views of the city from the top floor.
Surrounded by Tsuruga Castle Park, the castle is a scenic spot with lush lawns and cherry trees, especially beautiful during the April bloom. The nearby Rinkaku Teahouse and Fukushima Prefectural Museum add to the area's cultural charm.
