Fukuyama Castle Park is located north of Fukuyama Station.

Fukuyama Castle
Fukuyama Castle (福山城) is located right across from Fukuyama Station, perched on a low hill. Originally built in 1622, it served as a defensive base in western Japan during the Edo period. The current main keep, reconstructed in 1966 after being destroyed in WWII, features a unique design with one black iron-plated side and three white sides. Inside, visitors can explore a modern museum and enjoy panoramic views of the city.
The castle park is a popular cherry blossom spot in April, and nearby attractions include the Fukuju Kaikan, a traditional and Western-style building surrounded by beautiful gardens. Visitors can also explore the Hiroshima Prefectural Museum of History and the Fukuyama Museum of Art, both offering fascinating exhibits on local history and art. Fukuyama Castle offers a mix of cultural, historical, and scenic experiences.
