Hagi Castle (萩城) was built in 1604 as the home of the powerful Mori Clan, one of Japan’s most influential feudal families. Though the castle was destroyed in the late 19th century, its moats and walls remain, offering a glimpse into Japan's feudal past.
Located in Shizuki Park in Hagi, the castle ruins are surrounded by scenic beauty. The spacious park is perfect for a stroll or bike ride, with bicycles allowed. Visitors can explore the shrine, teahouse, and hike up Mount Shizuki for a stunning view of the city.
