Toyama Castle Park
Toyama Castle Park (富山城址公園) is located in central Toyama, offering a blend of history and nature. The park features a reconstructed castle keep, which houses the Toyama Municipal Folk Museum, and boasts scenic spots like a Japanese garden and spacious lawns. It's a popular spot for cherry blossom viewing in early to mid-April.
The original Toyama Castle, built in 1543, was once the base of the Maeda clan during the Edo Period. Though the castle keep was dismantled, it was rebuilt in 1954. Nearby, the Sato Memorial Art Museum showcases an impressive collection of art, lacquerware, and traditional tea rooms.
