Korakuen has two entrances: the main gate next to the Prefectural Museum and the south gate near the bridge to Okayama Castle.
The garden is a 25-30 minute walk (1.5 km) east of Okayama Station. You can also take the Higashiyama Line tram to Shiroshita stop (5 minutes, 120 yen) and walk 10-15 minutes to the south gate. The Korakuen Bus (currently out of service) connects the station to the main gate in about 10 minutes (100 yen).

Korakuen (後楽園, Kōrakuen) is a stunning landscape garden in Okayama, renowned as one of Japan’s top three gardens, alongside Kanazawa’s Kenrokuen and Mito’s Kairakuen. Located next to Okayama Castle, the garden offers a perfect view of the castle as "borrowed scenery." Created in 1687 by a local feudal lord for family entertainment, it became a public garden in 1884. The spacious grounds feature a large pond, streams, walking paths, lawns, and a variety of trees, making it a serene escape with historical charm.
