Echigo Tsumari Art Triennale
The Echigo-Tsumari region in Niigata Prefecture transforms art and nature into a harmonious experience. Spanning 760 square kilometers, this rural area is home to over 100 modern art installations that blend seamlessly with the environment. Created by Japanese and international artists, these works can be found in rice fields, abandoned buildings, and charming villages, showcasing a unique integration of culture and landscape.
Every three years, the Echigo-Tsumari Art Triennale revitalizes the region, attracting global visitors with new and permanent artworks. Beyond art, the region offers picturesque rice terraces, serene forests, and insights into the traditional "satoyama" lifestyle.
