Shugakuin Imperial Villa
Shugakuin Imperial Villa (修学院離宮, Shugakuin Rikyū), built in the 17th century by Emperor Gomizuno, is a stunning example of traditional imperial architecture. Located in Kyoto, it consists of three villa areas—the Upper, Middle, and Lower Villas—each featuring meticulously designed gardens and structures. The villa is named after a former temple that once stood on the site.
