Yasaka Pagoda is a short walk from Kiyomizudera Temple and Yasaka Shrine in Kyoto's Higashiyama district. From Kyoto Station, take bus 100 or 206 to the Kiyomizu-michi bus stop (15 minutes, 230 yen). From there, it's about a 10-minute walk to the pagoda. Alternatively, it’s accessible by a 20-minute walk from Gion-Shijo Station on the Keihan Line or Kawaramachi Station on the Hankyu Line.

Yasaka Pagoda
Yasaka Pagoda, the iconic remnant of Hokanji Temple (法観寺), stands as a symbol of Kyoto's timeless charm. Its five-tiered structure is one of the most recognizable landmarks in the historic Higashiyama district, blending seamlessly with the traditional wooden streetscape. The pagoda offers an enchanting backdrop for photos and a glimpse into Japan's cultural heritage.
What makes Yasaka Pagoda truly unique is the rare opportunity to step inside. Unlike most pagodas, which can only be admired from the outside, its occasional openings allow visitors to explore its interior and experience a closer connection to this historical treasure.
