Hozu River Boat Tour

44 of 75 in attractions in Kyoto

Hozugawa River Cruises (保津川下り, Hozugawa Kudari) offer scenic boat rides along the Hozugawa River, traveling from Kameoka to Arashiyama. The traditional flat-bottomed boats, guided by boatmen with oars and bamboo poles, provide a relaxing two-hour journey through a lush ravine. The cruises are popular year-round, with the vibrant autumn season being especially beautiful.

For an even more memorable experience, combine the river cruise with a ride on the Sagano Scenic Railway. This offers a unique way to take in Kyoto’s natural beauty.
