Okurayama Ski Jump Stadium (大倉山ジャンプ競技場, Ōkurayama Janppu Kyōgijō) hosted the 90-meter ski jump events during the 1972 Winter Olympics. Today, the Okurayama Observatory atop the hill offers breathtaking views of Sapporo, accessible by chairlift.

At the foot of the hill stands the Sapporo Olympic Museum, featuring exhibits on the 1972 Winter Olympics and various winter sports like ski jumping, bobsled, and biathlon. The museum also offers fun sport simulations, allowing visitors to experience events like ski jumping, speed skating, and hockey.

Getting there

By Bus:
Take the Tozai Subway Line to Maruyama Koen Station (5 minutes, 210 yen). From there, hourly JR buses go to the ski jump (Ōkurayama Janppu Kyōgijō stop). Other buses stop at Sapporo Seishin Jōshi Gakuin or Ōkurayama Janppu Kyōgijō Iriguchi, with a 10-minute walk to the ski jump. The bus ride takes 10 minutes and costs 240 yen. JR buses are covered by the Japan Rail Pass and Hokkaido Rail Pass.

By Taxi:
A taxi from Sapporo Station to the ski jump takes about 20 minutes and costs 2500-3000 yen.
