Shinjuku Station is the busiest railway station in Japan, served by many train lines, including the JR Yamanote Line. From Tokyo Station, take the frequent orange JR Chuo Line (Rapid Service) for less than 15 minutes (210 yen) to Shinjuku, or from Ueno Station, take the JR Yamanote Line for 25 minutes (210 yen), or a faster option is to transfer at Kanda Station to the JR Chuo Line for a quicker route to Shinjuku.

Shinjuku
Shinjuku (新宿) is the beating heart of Tokyo, known for its vibrant mix of entertainment, business, and shopping. Centered around Shinjuku Station—the world's busiest railway hub—this district connects millions daily through a network of railway and subway lines, including the JR Yamanote Line. The nearby Busta Shinjuku serves as a major hub for long-distance buses, making it an essential stop for travelers.
West of the station, the skyscraper district showcases Tokyo's architectural marvels, including the Metropolitan Government Office with free observation decks. To the northeast, Kabukicho buzzes as Japan's liveliest nightlife district. Surrounding Shinjuku Station are department stores, underground malls, and the redeveloped Southern Terrace, offering endless opportunities for exploration.

Shinjuku District is an incredible mix of excitement and tranquility. The area is packed with skyscrapers, shopping malls, and vibrant nightlife, but it also has serene spots like Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden, offering a perfect balance. I loved exploring the neon-lit streets, full of restaurants, bars, and entertainment.
For shopping, Shinjuku has everything from high-end fashion to quirky stores. I also enjoyed the view from the observation deck of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building. Shinjuku truly offers something for everyone – a must-visit for anyone wanting to experience Tokyo’s energy and diversity!3 weeks ago — by Wesley
