Yoyogi Park

18 of 219 in attractions in Tokyo

Yoyogi Park (代々木公園, Yoyogi Kōen) is one of Tokyo's largest parks, offering wide lawns, ponds, and forested areas, perfect for jogging, picnicking, and outdoor activities. It is a peaceful retreat in the heart of the city. Although it has fewer cherry trees than other parks in Tokyo, it is still a great spot for hanami in spring, with beautiful views during late March and early April. The park is also famous for its ginkgo tree forest, which turns a stunning golden color in autumn.

Before becoming a city park in 1967, Yoyogi Park was home to the Olympic Village for the 1964 Tokyo Olympics and was also used as a residential area for US military personnel. Today, it stands as a tranquil spot, where locals and tourists alike can enjoy nature and outdoor activities. It’s the ideal escape from the city's hustle and bustle, offering something special every season.
