The Nintendo Museum, opened in October 2024, is a must-visit for gaming enthusiasts. Located in Uji City, just south of Kyoto, it showcases Nintendo’s evolution from a playing card company in 1889 to a global gaming giant. The museum features historic products, interactive exhibits, and a hands-on Hanafuda card-making experience. Visitors can play classic games with coins included in the admission and purchase extras for more gameplay.

Tickets for the Nintendo Museum must be purchased in advance through the official website, as they are not sold at the museum. Currently, tickets are available through a lottery system, with entries accepted three months before the visit. For example, April tickets can be requested in January, and results are announced on February 1. Each person can enter only once per month, and reselling is strictly prohibited.
Ticket prices are 3300 yen for adults (18+), 2200 yen for ages 12-17, and 1100 yen for ages 6-11.
