Hakone Shrine (箱根神社, Hakone Jinja), located at the foot of Mount Hakone by Lake Ashinoko, is an iconic Shinto shrine surrounded by dense forest. Known for its striking torii gates, one of which stands in the lake, it’s an atmospheric spot offering both natural beauty and spiritual significance. A lantern-lined path leads from the torii gate in the lake to the main shrine building, nestled among tall trees, creating a peaceful ambiance throughout the year.

Another highlight is Hakone Mototsumiya Shrine, located at the summit of Komagatake, accessible via the Hakone Komagatake Ropeway or hiking trails, offering scenic views and a tranquil atmosphere.
