Hakone Art Museum
Hakone Museum of Art (箱根美術館, Hakone Bijutsukan), located in Gora, was founded in 1952 by Okada Mokichi. The museum primarily showcases Japanese ceramics, including ancient pottery from the prehistoric to the Edo period. Highlights include large earthenware and ceramic vessels, including a haniwa burial statue that is classified as an Important Cultural Property.
The museum is also home to a stunning moss garden, with winding stone paths and maple trees, offering seasonal beauty from vibrant autumn colors to lush spring greens. Visitors can also enjoy a traditional Japanese landscape garden, Sekirakuen, which features decorative stones, a mountain stream, and scenic valley views.
