Tokyo Metropolitan Government Office
The Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building (東京都庁, Tōkyō Tochō) in Shinjuku is a popular spot for stunning panoramic views of Tokyo. Its two towers, standing at 243 meters tall, offer free access to observation decks located 202 meters above ground. Visitors can see iconic landmarks like Mount Fuji, Tokyo Skytree, Tokyo Tower, and Meiji Shrine, especially on clear days. Each observatory also features a café and souvenir shop.
Apart from the views, the building houses government offices and a tourist information center, providing helpful details about Tokyo and other Japanese destinations. Temporary fairs showcasing local products are also held here.
