Getting there

Google Maps

Makuhari is centered around JR Kaihin-Makuhari Station. Makuhari Station and Makuhari-Hongo Station are in the same area but not close to Kaihin-Makuhari. A bus ride between them takes 15-20 minutes.

From Tokyo
From Tokyo, you can reach Kaihin-Makuhari Station from Tokyo Station using the JR Keiyo Line. It costs 580 yen and takes about 30 minutes by rapid train. Limited express trains are faster and less crowded but cost more. All these trains are covered by the Japan Rail Pass.

From Narita Airport
From Narita Airport, take a direct Keisei Bus to Makuhari Messe for 1000 yen. Alternatively, take the Keisei Line to Keisei-Tsudanuma, then transfer to Makuhari-Hongo Station, followed by a bus to Makuhari Messe. Keisei trains are not covered by the Japan Rail Pass.
