Kawaguchiko Station is the end point of the Fujikyu Railway from Otsuki. The bus terminal in front of the station connects to Tokyo, Kofu, Gotemba, and more.
From the station, the Omni Bus offers local transportation around Lake Kawaguchiko and nearby Lake Saiko. The Red Line runs along the eastern and northern shores of Lake Kawaguchi, while the Green Line goes along the southern shore before heading to Lake Saiko.

Lake Kawaguchi
Lake Kawaguchiko (河口湖), part of the Fuji Five Lakes, is the most accessible with direct train and bus links from Tokyo. Nestled at the base of Mount Fuji, it offers stunning views of the mountain, especially during cherry blossom season in mid-April and the vibrant autumn colors in early November. The northern shores provide the best views, and the Momiji Tunnel, lined with maple trees, is a photographer’s paradise during autumn.
This hot spring resort town is packed with attractions, including boat tours, museums, the Fuji Q amusement park, and a ropeway to a nearby mountain. While Mount Fuji’s view may be obscured by clouds, early mornings and late afternoons provide the clearest views. Kawaguchiko also serves as a popular base for those looking to climb Mount Fuji, although most begin their hike from the Fuji Subaru Line 5th Station.
