Aburahi Shrine
Aburahi Shrine (油日神社) is the perfect spot to escape the hustle and bustle of the city, offering a serene environment to enjoy traditional Japan. Known for its serene atmosphere, it has been featured in numerous Japanese movies and TV dramas. Aburahi Shrine is dedicated to the god of oil and fire, as reflected by its name "Aburahi" (oil and fire), and served as a sacred meeting place for the Koka ninja. It features a graceful two-story gate with a corridor on both sides, looking the same as it did 500 years ago.
While walking around the shrine, visitors can admire beautiful carvings and enjoy the peaceful greenery surrounding the area. During festivals, the corridor is used for banquets, adding to the charm of the location. Designed by a master carpenter, the shrine grounds offer a moment of tranquility as visitors sit and gaze over the peaceful surroundings. Remember to remove your shoes and show respect when entering the worship hall to fully appreciate the sacredness of the site.
