Kagoshima Aquarium

Kagoshima Aquarium (いおワールドかごしま水族館, Io World Kagoshima Suizokukan), is a must-visit destination for marine life enthusiasts. Located along the waterfront next to the Sakurajima ferry terminal, this impressive aquarium spans seven floors and showcases the diverse sea creatures of Kagoshima and its surrounding islands. Its highlight is the massive Kuroshio Tank, home to a variety of fish, from tiny schools to graceful rays and even a giant whale shark.

Beyond the Kuroshio Tank, visitors can explore exhibits featuring sea otters, giant crabs, coral reefs, electric eels, and mangroves. A major attraction is the Dolphin Pool, where daily shows captivate audiences.
