Getting there

Fujikyu Bus runs 3-4 buses daily between the Fuji Five Lakes and Shin-Fuji Station, stopping at Shiraito Falls and Fujinomiya Station. The trip from Kawaguchiko Station to Fujinomiya Station takes about 90 minutes and costs 2140 yen. The buses also stop at Fuji Q Highland and some at Fujisan Station.

Hikari train on the JR Tokaido Shinkansen from Tokyo to Mishima Station. Then, transfer to the JR Tokaido Line to Fuji Station and change to the JR Minobu Line to Fujinomiya. The whole trip takes around 2 hours and costs about 4500 yen, fully covered by the Japan Rail Pass.

JR Kanto Bus and Fujikyu Bus run highway buses every 2-3 hours (more during rush hours) between Tokyo Station (Yaesu South Exit) and Fujinomiya Station. The trip takes about 2.5 hours and costs 2750 yen, with 9-10 departures daily. One bus per day goes to Shiraito Falls after Fujinomiya Station (3 hours, 3400 yen).

Take a Hikari train on the JR Tokaido Shinkansen from Shin-Osaka Station to Shizuoka (every second Hikari stops at Shizuoka). Then transfer to the JR Wide View Fujikawa limited express to Fujinomiya. The trip takes about 2.5 hours and costs around 12,000 yen, fully covered by the Japan Rail Pass. If no limited express train is available, you can take local trains via Fuji Station, which adds a little time and reduces the fare by a few hundred yen.
