Mount Kasayama
Mount Kasayama (笠山) is a 112-meter-high mountain located on a peninsula about six kilometers north of Hagi's city center. The summit features a small 30-meter wide crater that visitors can explore by descending a staircase or walking around via a short path. From here, you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the Sea of Japan from the observation deck.
At the foot of the mountain, you'll find Myojinike Pond, which is a lovely spot for a relaxing stroll. Nearby, the Kaza-ana Holes in the woods create a unique natural phenomenon. These openings release cool air due to the evaporation of rain and sea water, acting as a natural air conditioner—an especially refreshing experience during the hot summer months. Meals and drinks are available near the holes, making it a great spot to relax.
