Kitakami (北上) in Iwate Prefecture is a cherry blossom paradise, renowned for its breathtaking display of over 10,000 cherry trees lining the Kitakami River in Tenshochi Park. Blooming for one to two weeks around late April, these trees create a stunning canopy of blossoms, earning Tenshochi Park recognition as one of the top three cherry blossom spots in the Tohoku Region, alongside Hirosaki Castle and Kakunodate.
