Shinyokohama Ramen Museum
The Shinyokohama Ramen Museum (新横浜ラーメン博物館) offers a one-of-a-kind experience for ramen lovers. Located in Yokohama, the museum showcases the history and evolution of ramen in Japan, from its origins in China to its current status as a beloved dish. The first floor displays a variety of ramen noodles, soups, toppings, and bowls from across Japan. Visitors can learn about the success of instant ramen and how noodles are made.
The museum's basement floors bring the 1950s Tokyo streets to life with a 1:1 replica of Shitamachi, the old town. Here, visitors can enjoy ramen from nine restaurants, each representing a different Japanese region. Mini ramen portions allow guests to sample multiple dishes, with tickets purchased via vending machines in front of each store. A perfect stop for foodies and history buffs alike!
