Nikko Botanical Garden

Nikko Botanical Garden (日光植物園, Nikko Shokubutsuen), managed by the University of Tokyo, is a serene retreat for nature lovers. Established in 1902 for alpine plant research, it now showcases over 1,500 plant species and 2,200 individual plants. The well-maintained walking paths lead visitors through a rich variety of labeled trees, shrubs, and flowers, creating a peaceful atmosphere for exploration.

This tranquil garden offers a glimpse of the Kanmangafuchi Abyss, though no direct path connects them. Featuring alpine and mountainous plants alongside native tree varieties, Nikko Botanical Garden remains a vital research site while welcoming visitors to admire its seasonal beauty.
