From Fukuoka to Dazaifu

  From Fukuoka, take the JR Kagoshima Line from Hakata to JR Futsukaichi (15–25 minutes, 340 yen), walk 10 minutes to Nishitetsu Futsukaichi, then take the train to Dazaifu (5 minutes, 170 yen). The full trip takes 30–60 minutes and costs 510 yen (170 yen with Japan Rail Pass).

• By train (with Nishitetsu Railway)

• From Fukuoka, take the subway from Hakata Station to Nishitetsu Fukuoka Station (5 minutes, 210 yen), then ride a train to Nishitetsu Futsukaichi (15–25 minutes), and transfer to the Dazaifu Line (5 minutes). The full trip takes 25–40 minutes and costs 420 yen.

• By bus

• From Fukuoka, direct buses run every 15–30 minutes from Hakata Bus Center to Dazaifu Station, taking 40 minutes and costing 700 yen. From Fukuoka Airport (International Terminal), it takes 25 minutes and costs 600 yen.
