From Shimbara to Unzen Onsen

  • By bus

  • From Shimabara, take a Shimatetsu bus directly to Unzen Onsen (about 40 minutes, 760 yen, runs hourly).

From Nagasaki to Unzen Onsen

  • By train and bus

  • From Nagasaki, take a JR train to Isahaya, then a bus to Unzen Onsen (90 min), or take a direct bus from Nagasaki Bus Terminal (100 min).

From Kumamoto to Unzen Onsen

  • By bus and ferry

  • From Kumamoto, take a bus to Kumamoto Port, then a ferry to Shimabara Port (30–60 min). From there, take a bus directly to Unzen Onsen (40 min, about 760 yen).

From Fukuoka to Unzen Onsen

  • By bus and train

  • From Fukuoka, take a direct bus to Shimabara then a bus to Unzen Onsen, or take a train to Isahaya and transfer to a bus to Unzen Onsen.
