Most attractions in Karatsu are easy to get to, but Mount Kagamiyama can only be reached by taxi or rental car.

Mount Kagamiyama (鏡山) is a beautiful 284-meter-high mountain located just outside central Karatsu. Known for its flat top, this mountain offers a peaceful retreat with a park around the summit, where visitors can enjoy the beauty of seasonal flowers. The park also features shops selling local Karatsu-yaki ceramics, making it an excellent spot for shopping and sightseeing.
The Kagamiyama Observation Deck (鏡山展望台), located at the northwestern end of the park, provides stunning panoramic views. From here, visitors can admire the lush pine grove, the sparkling bay, and the city of Karatsu in the distance, making it a perfect spot for photography and relaxation.
