Unzen Amakusa National Park doesn’t have much public transportation, so the easiest way to get around is by car. If you’re heading to Unzen Onsen, a popular hot spring town, it takes about 1.5 hours to drive there from either Nagasaki Station or Nagasaki Airport.
If you want to visit the Amakusa Islands after that, drive to Kuchinotsu Port. From there, you can take a car ferry to Oniike Port on Shimoshima Island, one of the main islands in the Amakusa area.
