Otemon Square is located south of Hirosaki Park, next to the city hall. Take the Dotemachi Loop Bus from JR Hirosaki Station (15 minutes) and get off at Shiyakusho-mae bus stop.

Otemon Square (追手門広場, Ōtemon Hiroba), located across from Hirosaki Castle’s main gate, is a must-visit spot for tourists. Serving as a stepping-off point, it offers an information center with maps, brochures, and helpful advice about the city's attractions.
The square also features a souvenir shop, restaurants, and a small exhibition showcasing local handicrafts and the famous Neputa Festival. Visitors can enjoy the nearby Western-style buildings, including the former city library built in 1907, which is now open to the public despite no longer being in use.
